We’ve decided that Bruce Springsteen is not a human being. He is a cyborg sent from the future programmed to write brilliant songs and play three-hour shows well into the night…all to basically celebrate his 64th birthday today.
Springsteen just continues to show why he’s one of the world’s top live acts, and showed it at last weekend’s Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. He took the stage just around midnight local time, which might have indicated he’d end earlier than usual. Not the case: the show reportedly ended sometime after 3:00 in the morning.
Bruce and the E-Street Band opened with “Badlands” and a few more tunes before launching into Born in the U.S.A. – not just the song, the entire album start to finish. Oh and he played nine more songs after that.
Happy birthday Bruce! Don’t ever stop being The Boss.
